Staring;

Ben Affleck as Christian Wolff

Jon Bernthal as Braxton

Cynthia Addai-Robinson as Marybeth Medina

J.K. Simmons as Ray King

Allison Robertson as Justine

Alison Wright as Justine Voice

Daniella Pineda as Anais

Story Line;

Christian Wolff applies his brilliant mind and illegal methods to reconstruct the unsolved puzzle of a Treasury chief's murder.

Thoughts:

This was a great sequel! Everything fell into place, and we don't often see that with sequels

I wish they would have explored why Christian wasn't doing anything or what he was actually doing. I also wish they would have used the same lady to place Justine

CAUTION; Spoiler Alert

Former FinCEN director Raymond King meets with the mysterious assassin Anaïs to ask her help locating a Salvadorean family, offering only a dated photo of the parents and their young son. Anaïs doesn’t respond to the offer but warns King he’s been followed. King is assassinated in the ensuing gunfight while Anaïs walks away unscathed. King’s protege and current director of FinCEN, Medina, identifies his body and sees “find the accountant” written on his arm and decides to take up the case.

Medina, despite being mistrustful of Christian Wolff’s illegal activities, asks him for help finding the family in the photo. Wolff organizes a collage of information which shows that the family in the photo fled from Salvador to Los Angeles, encountering various hazards along the way. Cobb, the man tasked with killing Anaïs and King, informs his supervisor Burke who tells him to continue pursuing Anaïs lest she realize what Burke did to her.

Christian invites his estranged brother, Braxton, still an assassin, to help with the case. Justine, still residing at the New Hampshire compound where she met Christian, works with a group of also autistic children to hack into different technology to help Christian. Their group manages to find a photo of  Anaïs but are unable to identify her. Uncomfortable with their illegal methods, Medina breaks from the group. She visits a hospital mentioned in one of King’s reports, where she discovers Anaïs is actually the mother from the photo. Anaïs was involved in a critical accident and after losing her memories, she developed intense combat skills before escaping.  Batu, a contractor for hitman, sets a contract for Medina which Braxtron rejects. Justine warns Wolff and he arrives after Anaïs has wounded Medina.

Braxton and Christian realize that Anaïs’ still living, autistic son Alberto is being held captive at a prison camp in Juarez. They assault the compound and manage to save Alberto after killing Cobb and the other guards. Justine blackmails Batu into canceling his contract on Medina. Anaïs, having regained some of her memories, realizes Burke is the person who imprisoned her son and killed her husband in Juarez. She finds Burke in hiding and kills him. Justine and the other children welcome Alberto to their facility in New Hampshire, and Braxton and Christian go on their first brotherly trip.

Jason Flemyng as Wolo Kolisnyk

Merab Ninidze as Yuri

Maximillian Osinksi as Dimi Kolisnyk

Michael Pena as Joe Garcia

Noemi Gonzalez as Carla Garcia

Arianna Rivas as Jenny Garcia

His hunt for the missing college student takes him deep into the heart of a sinister criminal conspiracy creating a chain reaction that will threaten his new way of life

Thoughts:

This looked pretty good. It was, just longer than it needed to be, but that seems to be the general movies lately.

This was similar to the Beekeeper and that seems to be the theme with Jason Staham movies. He is getting older and there have been a few movies that were different but it's defiantly a type cast.

CAUTION; Spoiler Alert

Levon Cade, an ex-Royal Marine Commando, works as a construction foreman in Chicago and is close with the Garcia family that runs the company. When the family's teenage daughter Jenny is kidnapped by Russian traffickers, Levon takes matters into his own hands to bring her back home.

The organization is run by the Bratva, led by Symon Kharchenko. When Levon kills high-ranking Captain Wolo Kolisnyk, Symon sends his sons Danya and Vanko after Levon. Levon infiltrates the organization by pretending to be a dealer to get close to Wolo's son Dimi, who runs the trafficking part of the organization. Jenny's captors Viper and Artemis try to sell her to a client, but Jenny bites the man's cheek off and is ordered to be killed until the client changes his mind and wants to try again with her.

Meanwhile, Levon gets caught by Danya and Vanko, but Levon kills them. Levon brings his daughter Merry to stay with his fellow ex-soldier Gunny after the thugs learn about his identity. Levon finds Dimi and gets him to lead him to the compound where Jenny is being kept. Levon kills Dimi and proceeds to mow down every last criminal in his path, including a biker gang and their leader. Levon finds Jenny, where he kills the client and Viper, while Jenny kills Artemis. Levon kills the last few goons before escaping with Jenny. Symon is told by his brother to leave Levon alone and that nobody in the organization is going to help him in his crusade for vengeance.

Levon reunites Jenny with her family and returns home to have dinner with Merry and Gunny.

Book 1

Blindsighted

Synopsis.

A small Georgia town erupts in panic when a young college professor is found brutally mutilated in the local diner. But it's only when town pediatrician and coroner Sara Linton does the autopsy that the full extent of the killer's twisted work becomes clear.

Sara's ex-husband, police chief Jeffrey Tolliver, leads the investigation—a trail of terror that grows increasingly macabre when another local woman is found crucified a few days later. But he's got more than a sadistic serial killer on his hands, for the county's sole female detective, Lena Adams—the first victim's sister—wants to serve her own justice.

But it is Sara who holds the key to finding the killer. A secret from her past could unmask the brilliantly malevolent psychopath .. or mean her death.

Thoughts.

Although I now know you don't need to read this series before Will Trent, it's helpful. This first book gives you in site on Sarah. It also gives a back story to Lena Adams.

This incident is talked about in the Will Trent series so I already knew the who. I didn't expect that he would be written in such a mild mannered way.

Book 2

Kisscut

Synopsis.

Saturday night dates at the skating rink have long been a tradition in the small southern town of Heartsdale, but when a teenage quarrel explodes into a deadly shoot-out, medical examiner Sara Linton and police chief Jeffrey Tolliver find themselves entangled in a terrible tragedy.

Then a young girl is abducted, and it becomes clear that the first death is linked to an even more brutal crime, one more shocking than anyone could have imagined. Meanwhile, Detective Lena Adams, recovering from a staggering personal loss, finds herself drawn to a young man who might hold the answers. But unless Lena, Sara, and Jeffrey can uncover the dark truth, someone will die again.

Thoughts.

What an amazing writer! The ability to tell more than one story in the same book seamlessly is amazing!

This was all crazy and something that can happen in any town

Book 3

A Faint Cold Fear

Synopsis.

An apparent student suicide has brought medical examiner Sara Linton to the local college campus, along with her ex-husband, police chief Jeffrey Tolliver. But a horribly mutilated corpse yields up few answers. And a suspicious rash of subsequent "suicides" suggests that a different kind of terror is stalking the youth of Heartsdale, Georgia—a nightmare that is coming to prey on Sara Linton's loved ones.

A small town is being transformed into a killing ground. And the key to a sadistic murderer's motive and identity may be held in the unsteady hands of a campus security guard—a former police detective driven from the force by the hellish memories that will never leave her. Lena Adams survived the unthinkable and has paid a devastating price. Now the survival of future victims may depend upon her ... when she can barely protect herself.

Thoughts;

Crazy, couldn't put this down.

These are written in a way that it's never who you expect. The author has an ability to go back and forth between the past, present and future without pause.

Book 4

Indelible

Synopsis;

Two armed men enter the police station in tiny Heartsdale, Georgia, and open fire. When the shooting stops, an officer is dead, Police Chief Jeffrey Tolliver is seriously wounded, and the survivors—including a class of grade-school children and medical examiner Sara Linton—are held hostage. In a tense standoff that could erupt at any moment into more bloodletting—with her ex-husband on the threshold of death—Sara must search for answers and an escape in the memories of a time at the start of their relationship when another brutal, shocking crime shattered their small-town world. Because the sins of the past have caught up with Sara and Jeffrey ... with a vengeance.

Thoughts;

At first I didn't understand why were going so far backwards, then I realized that it's because it's connected to the now story.

This book gives you not only the backstory of Jeffrey but the backstory of their relationship

Book 5

Faithless

Synopsis.

The victim was buried alive in the Georgia woods–then killed in a horrifying fashion. When Sara Linton and Jeffrey Tolliver stumble upon the body, both become consumed with finding out who killed the pretty young woman. For them, a harrowing journey begins, one that will test their own turbulent relationship and draw dozens of life into the case.

For as Jeffrey and Sara move further down a trail of shocking surprises and hidden passions, neither is prepared for the most stunning discovery of all: the identity of a killer who is more evil and dangerous than anyone could have guessed.

Thoughts;

For some reason, I had a hard time following this one.

I'm not sure what it was, these are so well written and I generally don't have any issues following along. Some of them are more exciting than others.

Book 6

Beyond Reach

Synopsis.

In a stifling jail cell in a hardscrabble Georgia town, Detective Lena Adams sits in stubborn silence: bruised, angry, and the only suspect in a horrific murder that left a woman incinerated beyond recognition. A hundred miles away, Police Chief Jeffrey Tolliver has gotten the call that his young detective has been arrested. Jeffrey's wife, pediatrician and medical examiner Sara Lindon, has little patience for Lena or her dramas. Fighting a heartbreaking malpractice suit, struggling to pick up the pieces of a shattered career, the last thing Sara needs is to see Jeffrey playing Lena's knight in shining armor. Sara cannot guess that within days she herself will be at the center of a bizarre and murderous case.

For Lena has fled back to the place where she grew up hard, careening back through the shadows of her past and into a shocking underworld of bigotry and rage. The man who raised her is slowly killing himself with drugs. The man who beguiled—and beat—her is reaching out from prison. And now only Jeffrey and Sara can free Lena from the web of lies, betrayal, and brutality that has trapped her—as this powerhouse of a novel races toward its shattering climax...and a final, unforgettable twist.

Thoughts;

Wow, this was a good one. I kept going the whole time because being the last book in this series and the fact that I read the Will Trent series first, I knew Jeffrey died. Spoiler it isn't until the end and it isn't at all what you think!

I honestly didn't see some of this coming. It was very well written and put together

Thoughts:

I had never heard of this, I was trying to watch the original and came across this.

First, I want to say that both Idina Menzel and Nia Long as amazing actresses, but they really fell flat in these roles.

Second, I wish they had stuck to the original script, they seemed to cut some of the middle stuff out which was great in the original. I love this movie, but this re-imagining felt off.

CAUTION; Spoiler Alert

None listed but the story line is the same as the original

Hilary & CC are lifelong friends after meeting at the Beach as children. CC is focused on her career and Hilary is focused on her school. At the end they end up divorced Hilary having heart problems. Once Hilary dies CC takes custody of her daughter.

Story Line:

A week in the life of vacationers unravels as they relax and rejuvenate in paradise; with each passing day, a darker complexity emerges in these picture-perfect travelers, the hotel's cheerful employees, and the idyllic locale itself

Thoughts:

I was excited to see Belinda and Gary/Greg together. We all know Greg had Tonya killed in the last season so it was interesting to see how this would play out.

I was also excited that Walter Goggins was in this season, he is a great actor and everything he's in seems pretty good. My first introduction was as Boyd Crowder in Justified.

The first episode generally starts with parts of the end, this one would make you believe there was more shooting than there actually was at the end.

A few things I figured out while watching but several things were unexpected.

I wouldn't call this the best season, but it was pretty good. The ending still left me with some questions that won't get answers and I'm ok with that.

I can't wait to see what season 4 has in store!

At Chelsea's insistence, Rick attends a meditation session with the hotel's counselor, and he opens up slightly about his traumatic childhood. Gaitok reveals his true feelings to Mook, but she gently dismisses his advances. Later, Valentin distracts Gaitok at the security gate, and a robbery occurs at the hotel boutique where Chelsea and Chloe are shopping. Belinda and Pornchai exchange massages. Piper is upset by her brothers' comments and questions about her sex life. Chelsea and Rick dine with Chloe and Greg, who is using the name "Gary". Greg is evasive about the details of his life. Timothy continues receiving calls from high-profile publications about his potential involvement in a major money laundering operation and finally connects with Kenny, who believes he is certain to be arrested and threatens suicide. Timothy later steals more lorazepam to sleep at night. Kate, Laurie and Jaclyn go to a nearby resort on Valentin's suggestion but find it filled with retirees and leave, they order Valentin to take them out. However, their day in town is interrupted by a Songkran water festival but they meet up with Valentin and his friends at a beach club. Fabian tells Belinda that Greg has been asking questions about her; but when Belinda informs Fabian that Greg is hiding from authorities and may be a threat, Fabian refuses to call the police. Distressed, Belinda confides in Pornchai and the two sleep together. In Bangkok, Rick meets with his friend Frank, who gives him a gun. Frank tells Rick about his unhinged sexual exploits in Thailand that subsequently led to his conversion to Buddhism. At the club with Valentin and his friends Alexei and Vlad, Jaclyn outshines Kate and Laurie; and later, at the hotel, she has sex with Valentin despite having pushed for Laurie to sleep with him for the past few days. After the party, back on Greg's yacht and high on ecstasy, Chloe initiates a kissing game, leading to an incestuous kiss between Saxon and Lochlan. Timothy prepares to commit suicide with the gun but is interrupted by Victoria, who advises him to go back to bed.

Episode 6

Belinda is surprised when her son Zion arrives early and catches her in bed with Pornchai. Later that day, Pornchai tells Belinda that he is interested in opening a spa with her in Thailand. Greg suspects that Chloe had sex with either Saxon or Lochlan, and tells her to invite the boys to a dinner party; Greg also invites Belinda, who becomes paranoid about his intentions. Kate spots Valentin leaving Jaclyn's bedroom and tells Laurie, who openly scorns Jaclyn's behavior as deceitful and consistent with her old ways. Piper brings her family to the monastery to assess its legitimacy. Timothy has a conversation with the monk about death, which moves him; he decides to let Piper stay at the monastery, much to Victoria's horror. Lochlan joins Piper for the stay; he and Saxon separately come to remember that they had an incestuous threesome with Chloe on the boat the previous night while intoxicated. While the Ratliffs are away, Gaitok recovers his gun from their villa. Timothy contemplates a murder-suicide of his family to spare them from his impending financial ruin. Greg offers Belinda $100,000 for her silence on his whereabouts so she can use it for her business which Tanya once promised her; Belinda does not accept the offer, even though Zion urges her to. Laurie has an argument with Jaclyn and Kate, and leaves them to attend a Muay Thai fight with Valentin. She later has sex with Aleksei, who then attempts to pressure her into giving him $10,000; when they are interrupted by Aleksei's girlfriend, Laurie flees. At the fight, Gaitok confides in Mook that his Buddhist beliefs in nonviolence contradict his job as a bodyguard. He later recognizes Valentin's friends as the boutique robbers. Piper is dismayed when Lochlan tells her he wants to join her at the monastery. Saxon rejects an invitation from Chloe to fulfill Greg's cuckoldry fetish.
