In
this book we meet Tessa, a single mother who meets a man, marries him
and moves in. She is a state trooper, and he is a merchant marine who
is gone a lot. She brings Sophie, a beautiful girl who Brian loves.A call comes into 911 that Brian was killed by his wife. When DD Warren shows up things get messy. Tessa has been beat and is claiming self-defense. She is eventually arrested and both DD and Bobby Dodge uncover fraud, theft and a whole heap of bad things done by good people.
I love these books; they are written so well, and I have a hard time putting them down!
