The Dibbux Box

Author; Jason Haxton
Came out; November 1, 2011
Read on; Paperback
Rating; Per Amazon 3.8/5

Caution; Spoiler Alert

A series of eerie events slowly unfolds when a wine cabinet sells at an estate sale in Oregon. It is soon sold and resold on eBay's Internet auction, and each new owner becomes desperate to get rid of the box along with the health problems, accidents, or death they claim came with it. Jason Haxton, the curator of a medical museum in a small Missouri town, learns of the mysterious cabinet and is intrigued by it as an artifact to be studied and researched. He places a bid on eBay and soon finds himself the proud owner of the Dibbuk Box. But as he carefully investigates and records everything he can about this unusual item said to be possessed by a Jewish spirit, Haxton discovers far more than he bargained for. In this true account, a dark story comes to light--a story that began at the time of the Holocaust and seems to have come full circle.

Thoughts;
This book was pretty good. The beginning and middle were strong but the ending was rather bland.

I have always felt like there was more to the story than what was told on TV but according to this book, if you have seen any of the discovery channels programs on it, then you don't need to read this book. You will really not learn anything new.

Caution; Spoiler Alert

The last witch hunter is all that stands between humanity and the combined forces of the most horrifying witches in history

Staring;
Vin Diesel as Kaulder
Rose Leslie as Chloe
Elijah Wood as Dolan 37th
Olaful Darri Olafsson as Belial
Julie Englebrecht as The Witch Queen
Michael Caine as Dolan 36th

Storyline;
The modern world holds many secrets, but the most astounding secret of all is that witches still live amongst us; vicious supernatural creatures intent on unleashing the Black Death upon the world. Armies of witch hunters battled the unnatural enemy across the globe for centuries, including Kaulder, a valiant warrior who managed to slay the all-powerful Queen Witch, decimating her followers in the process. In the moments right before her death, the Queen curses Kaulder with her own immortality, forever separating him from his beloved wife and daughter in the afterlife. Today Kaulder is the only one of his kind remaining, and has spent centuries hunting down rogue witches, all the while yearning for his long-lost loved ones. However, unbeknownst to Kaulder, the Queen Witch is resurrected and seeks revenge on her killer causing an epic battle that will determine the survival of the human race.

Thoughts;
This movie was ok. It could have been better and I figured with Vin Diesel, Ellijah Wood and Michael Cain it would have been.

We start off with no explanation with a group of men going into who knows what to kill the witch queen. She of course pretty much wins and when Vin Diesel goes to kill her, she curses him with immortality.

We skip forward in time to what I can only assume is “now”. Michael Cain's character dies, then isn't dead and Vin Disel must again defet the witch queen.

That's it. The movie in pieces and really all you need to know

Book; Estate of Horror (2014)

Estate of Horror; The True Story of Haunting, Hatred and a Horrific Family Secret!

Author; Anita Jo Intenzo
Came out; January 29, 2014
Read on; Paperback
Rating; Per Amazon 3.7/5

Caution; Spoiler Alert

With a single phone call, author Anita Jo Intenzo’s life changes in ways she could never imagine. After the news of the sudden and untimely death of Paul Jaeger, a writer and anthropologist and her dear friend of thirty years, the author find herself as executrix of his estate. Charged with the sale of his house, the author and her son begin the task of cleaning it. When she enters the home for the first time in many years, she is dismayed to find that her friend had become an extreme hoarder and soon realizes that fulfilling the responsibility of the sale will be a far more difficult task. It will take ten months and thousands of hours to sort through endless paper mounds, boxes and artifacts to find specific items in the will. It is a treasure hunt with surprising and distressing finds. But the hoarding will be the easiest thing to face as the situation in the home takes a disturbing turn to the paranormal. At first, the author and her son, and the friends who join them there to help, find the activity playful and fun. They are frequent witnesses to poltergeist activity, shadow figures, scratching and inhuman sounds, but confront all this with a rational curiosity, colorful language and amusement. They are more curious than frightened. It is as if her friend has stayed with her even after death, as he once promised her long ago. But the atmosphere becomes terrifying and the situation grows more dangerous with the discovery of dark family secrets and a connection to World War II and Nazi Germany. Anita and Chris soon encounter the surprising presence of powerful supernatural forces that become a constant distraction and danger. Nothing in her past has prepared her for this, even her expertise as an art restorer of items with a long history and spiritual connection. Anita knows she needs help to find answers, so she turns to local ghost investigation groups. What is revealed by them after spending time in the house is terrifying and shocking, and even out of this world. Estate of Horror is an incredible true story of how the author bravely faces these extraordinary obstacles, all the while navigating with uncertainty a journey into the unknown that toys with her sanity, challenges the very core of her spiritual belief system and tests the limits of her loyalty and friendship almost beyond human endurance.

Thoughts;
I truthfully heard about this book by looking for True Haunting Books. I placed it on my amazon wish list and had forgotten about it until I received it as a Christmas Gift!
I was very intregued by it. Once I started reading it I just couldn't put it down! It was very well written and I felt like I was there with them!

I only wish some pictures would have been included in the book since she talked about all the pictures and videos she took!

The book starts out with Anita finding out that her friend Paul had passed away. She knew she was the executer of the will and of the house, but she didn't know what she was in for.

Walking into the house she not only finds out that her dear friend was a hoarder but that the house is haunted as well! What Anita and Chris go through while cleaning out the house to sell sounds scary and daunting!

I highly recommend this book if you like True Hauntings, she has written a sequel which I have ordered :)

Wax; December 2017 Empties

YouTube;

I have started putting wax in all my warmers! I generally change out all the upstairs one every other day and the downstairs one daily. It’s still a little hard for me to keep track of what’s melting BUT this is a challenge for me so I’m all over it.

There are several warmers in the house, all of different types.

Candles;
I generally only burn candles in my living room and office, but I seem to go through them!

Vendor; Sweet Sensations

Scent; Twisted Mermaid. This was a very nice scent. The Candle itself burned really hot and the wicks were too close to the sides

Vendor; Penn's Wood Candle Company

Scent; Black Raspberry Vanilla. Now, this candle was amazing! Granted I've had it for about 6 months of so, it burned like a champ and threw like one too! I had a bit of tunneling at the end of it but I think it was due to the candle being past it's “burn” point.

Vendor; Kushner Kreations

Scent; Misbehaving. This was a cup I won playing in one of April's games. I generally burn until I get the prize then hoard it, this time I just burned the rest in my office because it smelled so good!

Vendor; Creative Enchantment

Scent; Sweet Vanilla Honey. This is just so amazing. The candles always burn clean and slow, the throw is amazing

Vendor; Wicked Wax of the East

Scent; Officer Wholiham. Day 2 of the Whoville Advent Box. IDK what the scent was, but it smelled like Christmas Tree!

Scent; Mt. Crumpit. This was a cute boot tart and was Day 3 of the Whoville Advent Box. It was a smokey pine type scent

Scent; Roast Beast. Day 4 of the Whoville Advent Box. This was a chicken wing tart and had a cinnamon scent to it

Scent; Betty Lou Who. Day 5 of the Whoville Advent box. Not sure what this exact scent was but it smelled like peppermint

Scent; Purple Cow. As with the above, this was super good!

Scent; Skittles. This was a little light for me. I could smell that candy but it just wasn't strong

Scent; Ice Cream Birthday Cake. This was amazing! The birthday cake wasn't real strong in it however together it was a creamy scent

Vendor; Scripted Scents

Scent; Kisses on his Collar. Whatever this scent was it was very good. It was like a light floral mixed with sugar. I really don't know how to even describe it. It was really good!

Vendor; Frankie's Scents

Scent; Pink Cotton Candy. This was a bag of chunks that I cut into pieces. It was so good and strong and yummy!

Scent; Homespun Sugar. This was a sweet sent, almost like you are smelling a bag of sugar. I think this would be great as a mixer type scent

Scent; Grape Soda Pop. Huge bag of shapes. I cut each one in half so this lasted quite some time. It was amazing

Scent; VBN Toasted Marshmallow Vanilla Ice Cream. This was a huge paw print bar that I melted and it took forever to get through it all but it was super good!

Vendor; Rose Girls

Scent; Vanilla Hazelnut Mocha Cinnamon Glazed Bakliua. This was amazingly mocha on cold but it was lighter on cold, which is odd for this vendor. I added a little more wax and it was super strong!

Movie; Chappie (2015) Caution; Spoiler Alert

Chappie

Came out; 2015
Time; 2 Hour
Watched on; Netflix

Rating; R for violence, language and brief nudity

IMDB Rating; 6.8/10

Rotten Tomatoes Score;
Tomatoemeter: 32%
Average Rating: 4.9/10

Caution; Spoiler Alert

In the near future, crime is patrolled by a mechanized police force. When one police droid, Chappie, is stolen and given new programming, he becomes the first robot with the abilitu to think and feel for himself

Staring;
Sharlto Copley as Chappie
Dev Patel as Deon Wilson
Ninja as himself
Yo-Landi Visser as herself
Jose Pable Cantillo as Yankie (America)
Hugh Jackman as Vincent Moore
Sigourney Weaver as Michelle Bradley
Brandon Auret as Hippo
Johnny Selema as Pitbill

Storyline;
In Johannesburg, the police department reduced the high rating of criminality using robots from the Tetravaal Company, designed by the engineer Deon Wilson. The former military Vincent Moore is envious of Deon, since he has developed another project called Moose, but neither Tetravaal nor the police department is interested. Deon has just developed an Artificial Intelligence but the Tetravaal's CEO Michelle Bradley asks him to abort the project. Deon decides to bring the damaged Robot 22 that was sent to be crushed to test his A.I. However he is kidnapped by the criminals Ninja, Yo-Landi and Amerika that want him to stop the robot cops. When they see the damaged robot in the van, they force Deon to program it to heist banks with them and they call it Chappie. However, Chappie acts like a child and need to be trained to learn and grow. Meanwhile Vincent follows Deon and plots an evil scheme to activate his robot.

Thoughts;
No, just no. Don't watch this unless you have 2 hours to waste. Seriously it will be wasted. We figured that with Hugh Jackman and Dev Patel along with Sigourney it would have been at least interesting.

The movie started strong with news coverage of all the new police robots. Once all this was done we start meeting the characters. There are the criminals who are robbing places for money and then there are the people in the office who are making the robots.

The criminals kidnap Dev Patel's character and tell him they want him to shut the robots off, then they find one in his van. He uses his new programming to make Chappie be a different robot. That's pretty much it, that's the movie. Dev Patel and Hugh Jackmon's characters are not friendly with each other and are always trying to outdue the other.

Great concept, bad movie.
