Story Line.
A hard-working, blue-collar dad who just wants to provide a good life for his quick-witted 8-year-old daughter. His mundane San Fernando Valley pool cleaning job is a front for his real source of income: hunting and killing vampires
Thoughts.
Ok, so I was actually really happy to watch this movie as it has some big named good actors in it, also Snoop Dogg. What could really go wrong?!
This movie was an interesting take on zombie/vampire movies for sure!
Generally, we see the blood thirsty brainless or weird type characters. These were like everyday people, and you really would have no idea.
James Franco's character Seth was funny as hell, and I couldn't stop laughing.
This movie starts strong and stays pretty strong until the ending. I highly recommend this movie
CAUTION; Major Spoiler Alert
None listed but I'll do my best.
The movie starts off with Bud Jablonski cleaning a pool, his truck and his job appears to be that of a pool cleaner. He watches a car leave, then he reveals his toolbox opens to guns, he breaks into the house and is slowing clearing and looking for something. Suddenly an old lady comes out of the bathroom and says, “Excuse me why are you in my house”, then all hell breaks loose and it's reveled that she is a vampire. A fight starts and it takes Bud some time to finally kill her. Another person comes out of a different room and is beheaded by a line that Bud put across the door. He then takes their fangs and leaves.
He goes back to his apartment, cleans up and picks up his daughter. When he drops her off at home, he finds his ex-wife cleaning and getting ready to fix the tile in the entry way, she explains that is going to list the house, you see a flier from Audrey San Fernando, a prominent Realtor in the area.
We find that Audrey San Fernando is also a vampire wanting to buy up tons of land and property and fill the area with Vampires. The woman that was killed in the beginning turns out to be her daughter and she vows revenge.
Bud takes his teeth to a pawn shop to find out how much he can get. He needs to come up with $10,000 to keep his family in the area. When the pawn shop won't give him enough, he reaches out to Big John Elliott to get him back in the “Union”.
He gets back in the union but is given Seth as a union rep. Seth much accompany him on his day shift and watch for violations. Seth pees his pants the first time he comes in contact with a vampire. Bud and Seth end up meeting with the Nazarian brothers and clearing out a hive. Seth again pees his pants but seems to be getting better.
Bud calls his ex-wife after he figures out that something big is going on, he wants to warn her, but finds she is meeting with the Realtor, he runs over there and is taken immediately. He is knocked out, only to wake up and find that Seth has been turned into a vampire. After going to get Heather they go to where Bud's family has been taken. Lots of things happen here and lots of vampires are killed, Bud saves his family with the help of Seth and Heather.
