Chronic Pain Thoughts; Volume 13

 

Dear Reader,

I started this because my “best” friend who also claimed to have a chronic illness wouldn't ever listen to me. I needed a place to vent and be somewhat anonymous. So call friend stopped talking to me while I was in the hospital.

I realized on a recent weekend getaway that I both don't and miss her at the same time. She said very mean things to me about my appearance. Things that I can't help or change. It sticks with me. She also used to talk about toxic people when she herself was toxic.

I now don't feel as bad about myself as I did when I was speaking to her. While walking in a large city I came to the conclusion that I just can't walk far distances and I didn't feel bad about it finally! I now understand what my body can handle all without contempt.

My point in all this....toxic people can make your chronic illness worse. People who say things like “I can do it, so can you” or “You just need to sleep” are tonic. People who push their opinions onto you as fact as not your people.

Synopsis.

So, when the weather takes a turn for the worse, and a blizzard cuts off the electricity—and all contact with the outside world—the guests settle in for the long haul.

Soon, though, one of the guests turns up dead—it looks like an accident. But when a second guest dies, they start to panic.

Within the snowed-in paradise, something—or someone—is picking off the guests one by one. And there’s nothing they can do but hunker down and hope they can survive the storm.

Thoughts.

This book read like a movie! The lead in was fantastic! The details about each couple/person were spot on and gave great detail.

I felt for each character, their reason for getting away and the terror they felt while one after another is killed.

This hotel sounds amazing, like a wonderful weekend getaway. This book makes you want to go there, even after the murders. They type of details are what makes me love to read!

I love these who-done-it type books and I love that through the writing you can't figure out who the murderer was until the end when the writer comes out with it. Sometimes I feel like we need a second book with updates, especially with this one!

Overall Order Thoughts:

I love this vendor. You can tell she puts her heart into everything, and you can tell. The wax is always nice looking and smells great!

The google eyes are the best!!!

My biggest pet peeve is that you could never find scent descriptions of the scents on her Facebook or web page. She included a card with them all for this one and I love it!

Story Line.

"The Baker" centers on a quiet, solitary man whose estranged son suddenly comes back into his life with a granddaughter he never knew existed. When his son disappears on a shady business opportunity, the baker must do everything he can to find his son and protect his granddaughter from the mob hitmen sent to find her.

Thoughts:

This had a good plot, it started strong but the whole middle was pretty boring. The acting was fine, and the action was fun, but the dialog and the slowness of this movie was too much! So many plot holes, like who is The Baker, what did he do in his former life, how does he know the merchant? We find out why Peter (the son) is a widower or has his daughter Delphi without a mother, towards the end of the movie!

Peter (Joel David Moore) is a limo driver. At the airport he finds that his client is on a delayed flight. He goes with his car to a parking garage to take a nap. In the parking garage he witnesses an attack and killing of several people. He takes the bag one of them was trying to protect.

Peter then goes to his daughter Delphi's (Emma Ho) school and removes her from class. He tells her they are going to get out of the city. He then goes to his Fathers Bakery (Ron Perlman). Peter takes a phone call and then explains to his father he needs to leave.

Delphi gets upset and goes to the car where she finds the bag that Peter had taken from the parking garage. Queue to Peter back in the city, he walks into his apartment and encounters Vic (Elias Koteas). He tells him he can have it all back. Vic opens the bag and finds it full of clothing from Delphi. Peter calls Pappi from his phone and we hear gun shots.

Pappi decides to find out what happened to Peter, and this is when Delphi dumps out her bag and we find it's all bags of drugs. Pappi puts the drugs into a loaf of bread, and they load into the delivery truck and get going.

Eventually we find that Peter was murdered by Vic after Pappi takes Vic hostage and makes him take him to Peter's body. Unknown if he actually kills Vic or not.

The movie ends after Pappi goes to the Merchant and returns all the drugs. They appear to know each other.

You always take a chance with mystery that you will get things you don't like. I got several zucchini scents and a scoopable with this one. I've been pretty lucky so far except for this order lol

Everything smells great on cold and these chunks are huge! I'm also not sure if I was supposed to get so many samples!
