Michael Keaton as Beetlejuice

Winona Ryder as Lydia Deetz

Catherine O'Hara as Delia Deetz

Jenna Ortega as Astrid Deetz

Justin Theroux as Rory

Willem Dafoe as Wolf Jackson

Monica Bellucci as Delores

Arthur Conti as Jeremy

Story Line;

After an unexpected family tragedy, three generations of the Deetz family return home to Winter River. Still haunted by Beetlejuice, Lydia's life is turned upside down when her rebellious teenage daughter, Astrid, discovers the mysterious model of the town in the attic and the portal to the Afterlife is accidentally opened. With trouble brewing in both realms, it's only a matter of time until someone says Beetlejuice's name three times and the mischievous demon returns to unleash his very own brand of mayhem

Thoughts:

I was excited for this movie when it was rumored back in 2015 so when it was announced with a release date, I knew I was there!

I loved every second of this movie, it was different yet the same. It was easier to follow and pretty funny.

I caught a few things while they were happening. Little details that were in the movie.

I love how they addressed Charles, since the actor is problematic and was not asked back, they also talked about the Matlends which was perfect considering Gena Davis and Alex Baldwin look much different now than back in the 80's.

This one got mixed reviews from my friends, but I highly enjoyed it

CAUTION; Spoiler Alert

Set 36 years into the future and Lydia Deetz is hosting a supernatural chat show named, Ghost House. Whilst filming a segment for her show, Lydia has visions of Beetleguese in the audience. Lydia's stepmother tells her about the death of her father, Charles on the way to the winter river for a funeral service.

The surviving Deets' family members pick up Lydia's daughter Astrid from boarding school. Lydia and Astrids father, Richard had divorced 2 years prior to his disappearance. After the funeral services, Rory proposes to Lydia, causing Astrid to run over to see Jeremy before the wedding.

Halloween arrives and Astrid finds out that Jeremy is a ghost and he asks Astrid to help him restore his life, to which she agrees. Jeremy tells Astrid that he can help her reunite with her father. Astrid recites an incantation from the handbook of the Recently Deceased and the pair transport to the afterlife. Lydia discovers Jeremy's past, murdering his parents and realizes that Astrid is in grave danger. Lydia reluctantly brings back Beetleguese to help her to retrieve Astrid and return her to safety.

Lydia commands Jeremy give her back Astrid and he agrees on one condition, that he can have Astrids hand in marriage. In doing so, he will be able to transition into the real world and escape the threat of his ex-wife, who is hunting him down in the afterlife and Lydia agrees to help him. Astrid heads towards the afterlife train station, where she attempts to ride the soul train, where her soul will be transported to the beyond, but Lydia and Beetleguese transport there to stop her. Astrid recites the incantation, so she can switch places with Jeremy, allowing him to go back to living his life.

Whilst on the train, Astrid notices that one of the employees at the train station is Richard and Lydia comes to Astrids help, but they are transported to one of Saturns moons, through the emergency exit. On Saturns moon, the duo encounter a Sandworm, but Richard comes to their rescue and he transports them back to the winter river. Unfortunately, when Jeremy tries to walk across the river into the world of the living, Beetleguese arrives and sends him to hell and he then helps Delia, transport back to the living world, where she was bitten by a snake, ultimately sending her back to the afterlife.

Lydia and Astrid arrive at the church, where Rory is waiting for their arrival at the altar. Unfortunately, Beetleguese and Delia arrive soon after and Beetleguese injects Rory with a truth serum, where he admits that he only wants to marry Lydia for her money. This makes Lydia angry and she punches Rory, knocking him unconscious. Just as Beetleguese is about to marry Lydia, Doleres comes and has him cornered. With the aid of the handbook, Astrid sends a Sandworm to come to the church. The Sandworm arrives, but Beetleguese deflects off of it, causing it to eat Dolores and Rory.

The ceremony is called off, after Lydia and Astrid reveal that Beetleguese had violated his own contract and the rules of the handbook. Suddenly, Beetleguese inflates, blowing up like a balloon and explodes. Lydia and Astrid then reassure Delia that they still love her and she crosses over with them. On the platform, Delia reconciles with what is left of Charles and she boards the soul train to the beyond.

A little while later, Lydia films the last segment of her show, before retiring the series in a bid to spend more time with Astrid. The pair travel to Transylvania and to Draculas castle, where Astrid develops a crush on an employee there named Vlad. Vlad and Astrid get married. Lydia still has nightmares about Beetleguese and one of them is of Astrid having his child, causing Lydia to wake up startled.

Josh Hartnett as Cooper

Ariel Donoghue as Riley

Saleka Shyamalan as Lady Raven

Alison Pill as Rachel

Hayley Mills as Dr. Josephine Grant

Story Line.

In M. Night Shyamalan's latest outing, everyone in a large city is in a frenzy. Why? That's because they're up and ready to watch a concert performed by famous pop star Lady Raven. Two of her fans, a man named Cooper and his daughter Riley, attend the concert with high spirits, but things slowly begin to change their tune. Amongst the screams of adoration and sounds of applause, the concert itself has a hidden identity: a front to fish out an infamous serial killer known as The Butcher. With security cameras rigged, armies of policemen with weapons at the ready, and police vehicles surrounding the venue, will anyone survive their concert experience or is there more to The Butcher than meets the eye?

Thoughts:

M Night Shyamalan likes plot holes, pretty sure he does it on purpose.

This movie was no exception, it started super strong but there was so many “How did they know” moments.

This had a great cast, everything about this movie was fun and kept you guessing.

The most unbelievable thing about this movie was the fact that a pop star would have never been able to be alone, that the police and FBI would have never told a bunch of low-level area workers what was going on and if the wife really had an idea why didn't she leave?!

CAUTION; Spoiler Alert

Philadelphia firefighter Cooper Abbott takes his teenage daughter, Riley, to pop star Lady Raven's concert as a reward for her good grades. There, Cooper notices the unusually high police presence around the concert venue. He learns from a vendor named Jamie that the FBI plans to catch a serial killer known as "the Butcher", having learned he will be in attendance. Cooper is revealed to be the Butcher himself, secretly checking footage on his phone of his latest captive victim, Spencer, in a basement. He steals Jamie's ID card and learns the passphrase that will identify him as an employee, using the card to gain access to a back room and steal a police radio.

Hearing a woman predicting his movements over the radio, Cooper sets off an explosion in a food stand's kitchen and uses the chaos to access the roof, where he learns from a police officer that the manhunt is led by Dr. Josephine Grant, an FBI profiler. Confused by Cooper's behavior, Riley asks him to stay with her. She talks about being chosen as Lady Raven's "Dreamer Girl", who gets to dance on stage with the singer and receives backstage access, which Cooper believes has the only exit not covered by the police. Cooper lies to Lady Raven's uncle that Riley recently recovered from leukemia, getting her selected to be the "Dreamer Girl".

However, after the concert ends, Cooper learns that police are also guarding the backstage exit. He privately reveals himself as the Butcher to Lady Raven, threatening to remotely kill Spencer if she does not escort him and Riley out in her limousine. She complies but asks to come to Riley's house, where she stalls for time by explaining the FBI operation to the family, unsettling Cooper by describing Grant's profile of him as someone with maternal issues and obsessive–compulsive disorder. She also explains that the police discovered details about the Butcher's attendance at the concert via a torn ticket receipt left in a vacant house that was reported anonymously.

Lady Raven steals Cooper's phone and locks herself in the bathroom. She obtains details from Spencer about where he was taken and livestreams it to her fans, one of whom finds and rescues him. She outs Cooper to his wife, Rachel, and he locks his family upstairs while Lady Raven texts her driver to contact the police. Cooper attempts to drive off with Lady Raven, but Cooper's family escapes and distracts him long enough for her to flee into her limousine. The police arrive and Cooper flees the house through a secret tunnel before disguising himself using a SWAT uniform and driving the limousine off with Lady Raven. After he reveals his identity, she unlocks the window and draws a mob of fans to stop him so the FBI can catch up, but Cooper changes into a fresh set of civilian clothes and gets away.

Cooper returns home and confronts Rachel. Rachel confesses that she had suspected he was the Butcher and left the receipt in the vacant house for the police to find, thus revealing that she was the one who tipped them off. Cooper decides to kill her and then himself, but Rachel persuades him to share some leftover pie made for Riley. After Cooper admits his hatred for Rachel in causing him to miss seeing his children grow up, he realizes Rachel drugged the pie with pills from his tool bag, leading him to hallucinate his mother expressing pride in him for feeling a real emotion. The hallucination is actually Grant, impersonating Cooper's mother to calm him down, and he is tased by SWAT officers as he walks up to her. As he is led away, he stops to adjust Riley's bicycle and shares a tearful embrace with her before being loaded into a police van. As it drives away, Cooper starts to pick his cuffs with a bicycle spoke he secretly took, laughing to himself. In a mid-credits scene, Jamie learns of Cooper's identity while watching the news.

Chronic Pain Thoughts: Volume 33: Empathy

 Dear Reader,

I read a lot of articles that I come across and share things that are pertinent to my own personal situation in hopes that it also helps someone else.

This article is entitled “How can we help patients with chronic pain? More empathy from doctors, to start”

I don't know about you, but I've been referred to doctors who've walked in the room “Why are you here” “I can't do anything for you” or I had one that did back injections without any medication.

Recently I saw a doctor who acknowledged my past treatments, acknowledged my current pain and didn't make me feel like I haven't tried enough Yoga!!

I didn't leave the office with a prescription; I left the office with a plan and hope that I can get help. Empathy makes all the difference in how we feel, our treatment options and how likely we are to continue to try things.

 Wax Empties: 8/1-8/31/2024

Where to find me.

Disclaimer/Disclose.

All wax I have purchased, or it has been sent to me in swaps that I do. I try and remember and disclose that information. I am never sent anything for free from the vendors

These are my opinions and mine only. This is not meant to influence your purchase just to share with you my experiences with vendors

I will never, won't ever and have never bashed another vendor. Sharing my experiences both good and bad is not bashing.

I do not believe in Ass wax. If the wax is going to throw it's going to throw. No wax should need more than 2 weeks from pour date to fully cure.

Yes, I am a vendor. I have been purchasing wax and candles for as long as I can remember. I do love to share my experiences. I enjoy wax and candles and will continue to make my own and purchase, but I will never review my own here

Things that drive me crazy.

No vendor or scent name on labels. This is basically advertising and why wouldn't you do it? Plus, if I get or send to someone else and they or me want more, how do they know who to buy it from?

All over prices. I have been noticing vendors lately have 2 ounces of one shape for a certain price, then the same ounces of a different shape for a different price. This is a huge turn off for me

Restocks that only have certain quantities and the sell out right away. I have no tolerance for that and just won't order

Vendors who take a single scent and make it sound like a blend. I feel like this is duping your customers and shouldn't be done. People who do empty videos, who are also vendors, that review their own product.

Vendors who get involved in other people's drama.

The opinions I put here are my opinions/experiences only. I fully urge each and every one of you to form your own opinions/experiences on vendors for yourself by placing an order and getting a DE-stash. Candles have many aspects to them and if I say I had a hard time burning one candle that doesn't mean the rest from the same vendor will be like that.

Melting.
