Dear Reader,
For 6 years I dealt with relentless back pain. I had been to the usual PCP, Pain Clinics and bounced around. I was sick of dealing with injections that don't work, being put on medications that didn't work (Gabapentin, Lyrica, Cymbalta, Diclofenec). My quality of life was suffering, I barley did anything and when I did I suffered the consequences.
I had a tear in L4/L5 Disc, and it was bulging. It wasn't until it completely herniated that I was able to get any help. I had Disc replacement surgery on 12/2/24. I still have untreated arthritis and untreated chronic pain but now I'm able to continue doing things I did before all this started.
It's
truly unfair that instead of help, I was made worse by the system
that vows to “Do no harm”, I was ignored by the medical system
that I needed to help me. I am not alone in this
Everyday millions of people are forced to suffer with chronic pain and
chronic conditions without any help from the medical system. They are
given gabapentin, cymbalta and other medications that aren't
indicated to treat pain
I
don't talk about this often because I'm sick of the narrative that
I'm a drug seeker. I'm not and if I was I know where to go to get
some. I just want relief from this chronic pain that I'm in. I want
safe and effective treatment that includes pain medication that
works, no drug tests and no “off label” medications.
