Four teenagers are sucked into a magical video game, and the only way the can escape is to work together to finish the game.

Storyline;

In a brand new Jumanji adventure, four high school kids discover an old video game console and are drawn into the game's jungle setting, literally becoming the adult avatars they chose. What they discover is that you don't just play Jumanji-you must survive it. To beat the game and return to the real world, they'll have to go on the most dangerous adventure of their lives, discover what Alan Parrish left 20 years ago, and change the way they think about themselves-or they'll be stuck in the game forever, to be played by others without break

Thoughts;

This movie was great! It wasn't a remake like most are these days, it was a new twist on an older movie. It was a great new concept and different.



We start the movie with a child finding a board game on the beach, he brings it home to his older brother who says “Board games, who plays board games any more”. The game magically changes into a video game, when he plays the game, he is sucked in. Fast forward to 20 years or so later, we come to 4 High School students just trying to survive and get through High School. When all 4 get detention for various reason, the plot goes forward.



They are told to remove all staples from buckets of paper. One of the kids discovers a video game counsel with a game in it. The plug it into the TV and turn it on. With some coaxing, all 4 kids pick characters and all of a sudden are sucked into the game, into the jungle.



This is super funny. First, Fridge, the tallest roughest football player is now Kevin Hart and tiny. Spencer, the skinny non-athletic kid is now Dwayne Johnson and huge. Bethany, the girly girl is now Jack Black and Martha, the “nerd” is now Karen Gillan and wearing skimpy cloths.



They learn early on that they must watch out or they will die and only have 3 lives. Once Nigel picks them up and tells them their objective, the movie really gets going.



I thought it was great, funny and just a great twist on Jumanji!
