Emily's life is in ruins
and she's meant to be making a fresh start. But when she learns about
the missing nurse, she sees a chance for redemption. Because finding
Alina could help right the wrongs of Emily's past. It could even mark
the start of a new career in private investigation.
But
what Emily doesn't know is that Alina had a horrifying secret. One
about the care foundation where she worked. And the closer Emily gets
to uncovering the truth, the closer she gets to terrible danger.
Thoughts;
This was a free book that I found on the nook app, I started reading it and couldn't put it down. The twists and turns are so good and the ending is amazing. The book starts about Emily and becomes about so many other things.
Mind for Murder
Emily Swanson Book Two
Published; 2019
Rating; Per Barns & Noble; 4.9
Caution; Spoiler Alert
Synopsis;
Emily Swanson risked her life to uncover exploitation and death. Now all she wants is peace and quiet…
Still haunted by nightmares and the ghosts of her past, she finds herself at Meadow Pines – a weekend retreat hidden deep within the New Forest. With its tranquil setting and strict ban on technology, it’s the perfect place to help free Emily’s troubled mind.
But is Meadow Pines the safe haven it claims to be?
A
man is found hanging from a tree. The evidence points to suicide. But
when help fails to arrive and the guests start turning on each other,
Emily knows she’s in terrible trouble.
Cut off from the outside world with darkness falling fast, Emily must race to uncover the horrifying truth about Meadow Pines...because there's a murderer at the retreat – and they’re about to kill again.
Thoughts;
Another that I just couldn't put down. Everything isn't as it seems and a nice quiet weekend retreat of course goes wrong. Poor Jerome, a good friend now that gets caught up being dragged along for the weekend, truly becomes the hero.
Dead people, robbery, killers on the loose and everything that's not peaceful and what Emily was looking for. These are really good books!
Trail of Poision
Emily Swanson Book Three
Published; 2019
Raiting; Per Barns and Nobel; 4.8
Caution; Spoiler Alert
Synopsis;
Emily Swanson knows how it feels to lose everything. Which is why she agrees to help a grieving widow uncover the truth about her husband.
Max Edwards was found dead on the bank of the River Thames, his body poisoned by toxic levels of alcohol. His wife insists he’d been sober for years and that there’s more to his death than meets the eye.
But what begins as a routine investigation for Emily quickly takes a dangerous turn. Max isn’t the only one to die in mysterious circumstances. A mother and child are missing. And a deadly secret connects them all.
Out of her depth and with time running out, Emily must turn to an unlikely ally for help. Because if she doesn’t uncover the truth about Max Edwards, more innocent people will die
Thoughts;
I was mad at this one. Not at Emily or Jerome. They are what these books are really about and without them there wouldn't be any story, so even though sometimes I get mad, it was Helen that made me upset.
I wanted so badly for Emily and Helen to just work together. They had just a history together that I had hoped the author would write it in a way where the women would solve this together.
Watch You Sleep
Emily Swanson Book 4
Published; 2019
Raiting; Per Barns and Nobel; 4.9
Caution; Spoiler Alert
Synopsis;
"I am The Witness. I am watching you all."
When Jessica's husband is arrested for fraud, her family's future is thrown into jeopardy. Then the letter arrives. At first it seems like a sick joke - someone called The Witness claims to be watching Jessica and her children through the windows of their home.
But as more unhinged letters and disturbing events follow, it's clear that The Witness is real and means to do them harm. Yet is everything as it seems?
Private eye Emily Swanson is hired to debunk Jessica's claims. It's the kind of case that could boost her career, but as Emily draws closer to the vulnerable family, she soon finds her loyalty questioned...and her life in grave danger.
Now Emily must race to uncover the identity of The Witness before Jessica and her children pay a fatal price...
Thoughts;
I couldn't put this book down. Everything that Jessica's family is going through sounds crazy and you know now that Emily is involved it's going to be solved, however who is doing this?
Emily seems in the middle of doing what's right and doing what her contract says. She literally is caught in between. She ends up almost loosing her job but getting to the bottom of everthing. Thankfully she keeps her job and saves Jessica and her children.
I love these types of books, the ones that twist and turn and that you just can't figure out who is doing it.
Kill For Love
Emily Swanson Book 5
Published; 2020
Rating per Barns & Noble; 5
Caution; Spoiler Alert
Synopsis;
The
game of love can be murder...
When
shy student Wendy is found bludgeoned to death, her classmate Bridget
is the chief suspect. But what turns a caring teenager into a
cold-blooded killer?
Private
eye Emily Swanson is desperate to find out. Bridget is the little
sister of Emily's oldest friend, and with no motive or history of
violence, her role in the crime doesn't add up. Until Emily makes a
horrifying discovery.
A
psychopath is stalking online dating sites, searching for young women
to play his sick and twisted games. Games that turn innocent victims
into killers.
To clear
Bridget's name, Emily must enter the dark world of online catfishing.
But can she catch a maniac who doesn't appear to exist—before she
becomes his next fatal obsession?
Thoughts;
So this one was a bit different than the others. Emily didn't get into trouble until towards the end of the book.
This
is pretty good, twisted games are played for sure and the book ends
exactly how it was hoping. I hope this author writes a serious of
Swan Song Invistagions. That would be perfect for the Emily Swanson
story
