Thoughts;

I’ve had palm wax melts before but never a candle. I seem to have not so good luck with throws and palm wax so we’ll see if that changes for me in a candle.

The scent I choose is Birthday cake. It’s a beautiful purple candle and has a metal “handle” to where you can pull the prize out with once it’s exposed.

From order to shipping was pretty quick. The post office held my package hostage for a bit so once shipped it took me longer to get it, this is by no means the fault of the person shipping. The candle was wrapped in what seemed like 20 layers of bubble wrap! It smells amazing and I hope that it smells this strong when I burn it.

*I am getting to this about 4 days later-at this time the candle is leaking oil on the top. Per the vendor she used 7% oil. As I’m unsure of palm wax I’m not sure what the % should actually be.

I read all the books after seeing the first movie. This was a series I heard nothing about until the first movie came out. I loved them all and they kept all the movies pretty close to the books.

This last one however, was way too long. Great story line, great action and loved that the entire cast stayed for all the movies but way to much!

I realize that a lot of this was for “story line” and it was still a great movie, but truly it could have been at least 45 minutes less than what is was.

Thoughts;

This was a “recommended for you” from Netflix movie.

There were funny parts to this and Henry Rollins does a great job at playing an emotionless person who is a true bad ass. I wish more would have been explained in the beginning of the movie vs. the end of the movie. So much could have been skipped in the middle. The movie itself was pretty boring but moved at a fairly fast pace.

I wouldn’t have listed this movie under horror, action and maybe if there’s a vampire category but it certainly wasn’t scary by any means.

This movie was on my list in netflix as we love scary movies here. Based on some rather dull and boring ones I checked the reviews on this movie first. It got decent reviews and we were looking for a really good scary one.

The movie started out a bit dull, then once they got into the story you started to understand what was going to happen. So many questions seemed to be answered at once.

The movie truly starts when the couple arrives “home”.  They catch a ride to their new apartment from what seem to be her parents, he calls the dad uncle, didn’t understand that part.

Once they arrive at the apartment you can tell right away that something is out of place, the mother can sense it.

I don’t want to give too much away with this but it turns out that the lady killed the baby and her husband is the Djinn’s baby. At the end you find out that the building that they are living in isn’t ready yet and no one is living there!

It wasn’t quite the scare we were looking for, but it was pretty good

Everything smells so good as always! Brooke is a scent master, she comes up with some of the best blends ever and they always smell so good!!!

So, this movie was marketed as Fantasy, Horror, Sci-Fi. It should not have been added to Horror as there was not one thing scary about this movie.

It started off ok, then got to where it may have been a good movie, then got weird, then got bad.

The acting was awful, the “token geeks” had strange tones to their voice and at some point during the movie, I thought I was watching The Power Rangers!

So, it starts with a guy in a bar. Turns out he is talking to someone trying to get him to go on a “Mid-Summer’s Night Tour” in Germany where this lone man appears to be on vacation. Queue on to later when they are all meeting each other and getting ready for said tour. They consist of a married couple (and their baby), a pair of nerds, a hot babysitter (with boobs/cleave out of course) and a doctor. They board the bus and go to their destination.

What appear to be special effects turn out to be all too real, especially when a fairy that sucker punches the mother kidnaps the baby!

Then, it goes from weird to bad, just bad. The 7 dwarfs are killers who eat people, really-who the heck thought of this?! Clocks with no times and all the fairy tales and urban legends that you can imagine.

There are tons of reviews all over about how bad this movie is. Personally I didn’t find it bad at all. It has some really good freaky scenes. I just wish they didn’t “assume” you had seen the first movie and gone into the back story a little more. It took me a little bit to understand the church behind the house and once they explained it, it made more sense.

Too long, too boring! Ugg, I so wanted this to be good as the Bond movies are pretty well known for nice, fast cars and lots of action. This was just overloaded with story line. They could have easily cut an hour from this movie to make it better.

Daniel Craig is a good looking man and I love watching him in any movies, he’s also a good actor LOL which is important when it comes to movie watching.

The car chases went for too long, the story line went on for too long, the action wasn’t there-the only thing good about this movie was the acting.

I know that this is a kids movie, we rented it for our Saturday movie night. I was rather bored and I generally like Charlie Brown. I like overall the movie would have been better with a better, different story.

I understand and it’s clear while watching this that they wanted it as close to the originals as possible and they did a great job at that, but he meeting of the Little Red Haired girl was tired.

Also, for a kids movie, at almost 1 ½ hours, this was too long. It literally felt like it went on and on and on without anything exciting happening.

20 ounce treasure candle in S’More scent

This was my first order from this vendor, this vendor is new to me and I’m pretty sure just a new vendor all together.

I saw a video from a facebook friend of mine, Lucy AKA Tailer. I followed her link to Etsy and favorited the shop so that I could look around later when I was ready to purchase. Since the owner reached out to me with a 20% off coupon I decided to make my purchase there. It was tough, she sells multiple sizes of candle options but only a few scents at a time. I choose S’Mores. The candle shipped out right away, USPS held it hostage for a few days but I received it in a timely manner.

The candle was packaged in a super cute box and smells just like S’Mores. I did reach out to her based on some holes in the top as well as it being uneven to give her some pointers as to how to fix that. Personally I know that this candle will burn fine this way as the holes will fill in when the candle is burning, however I know other people won’t be so nice

So far my experience has been very good, the vendor seems very nice and sweet and the prices and shipping were very quick and good.

Wax General Thoughts

I love wax, I always have. I burn candles, melt wax in every room of my house and make wax. I used to drive my parents crazy with all my candles in my room.

I have also been making my own for about 2 years and opened my own wax company, Waxidents about a year ago. I've researched, I've experimented and I've tried and failed. Some days I wonder if other companies have gone through the same thing, I also wonder how different companies, who use the same type of wax, have different throw levels.

My personal favorite is soy, especially for candles. I feel that you get a smoother burn with soy, not as much tunneling as you do with other kinds of wax. That does all too depend on the wick used. I also feel like you get a great smelling candle with the right amount of oil used. My personal experience with making soy candles is that not all types of soy are created equal. I had a company that I ordered from sent me the incorrect wax, one that I wasn't used to using, this wax didn't hold as much oil as the one I was used to, all my customers stated that they oil was leaking from their candle when they receive it. I used the same oil in those as I had with the other wax, which is super annoying. Anyway, sorry about my tangent there! :)

Palm Wax is beautiful in all colors, it has this crystal effect that no other wax has. I think it's just pretty, it takes the right person to make it so that the throw is there. As of my writing I have not had a palm wax candle or melt that has had a good throw to it. I have worked with palm wax and have found it very easy to work with and again, everything turns out so pretty! My palm that I made had a great throw to it, but I still prefer soy wax over all others.

Beeswax is a wax that I have also worked it. It's the most natural of the other waxes I think I've talked about. It has it's own scent to it and I have yet to try to scent it anything else, I did try with a Lemon scent and it added to the natural sweet smell of the wax. This is not a wax that I will work with a lot as it it's pretty messy and hard to clean up.

This was my second order from Wicked Wax of the East-I was very impressed by the valentines candle that I received. I have  not actually placed an order from her web site, however this is the second facebook special that I’ve purchased. I did grab two men’s tarts even though my husband won’t be the one to do them.

I won a $50 store credit from my January/New Year’s promo tarts along with the lotion. It was a hard choice since Mother Earth Creations is one of my favorite vendors! I of course picked some of my favorite scents which along with Vanilla Bean Noel it’s been Pink or Blue Sugar

Although she is currently closed to catch up on her orders and to spend some time with her family, once she re-opens I’m sure she’ll be just as busy!
