Thoughts;
Finally, a good one! I feel like we watch all these movies
and they just are not scary!
There really isn’t a slow part in this movie. The entire
movie is a little creepy.
Sinister starts with a family moving into a house. You learn
right away that Ellison is a writer and that the sheriff doesn’t want him
there. His current project is regarding a missing little girl, but once it
starts, he learns much more than was looking for.
Why he actually goes into the attic, I don’t know, but he
finds a box. Inside the box is a film
reel and film, all labeled with things like “Pool Party”. Curiosity gets the
best of him and he watches the first film he finds. The film is the family that
used to live in his house, it ends with the family hanging from a tree. Things
get worse from here.
Once he starts to investigate, he finds that this has
happened to several families throughout time and that in each case, a child is
missing. The closer he gets to the truth, the stranger things get in his home.
He ends up fleeing with his family to their old house, which they haven’t sold
yet. The Deputy that has been helping him calls and tells him that the house he
lived in was “the last house in the line”.
The movie ends with Ashley, Ellison’s little girl, killing
the family and leaving with the “Monster”.
Great Movie, even the jump scares were good! Loved it
